time flies

It is amazing for me to think that Milo is already 6 months old... I look back at pictures from when he was first born or even newborn outfits and find it hard to remember him so little... so fragile. Now he has two teeth, is sitting up by himself, can scoot backwards and is on his way to crawling (i'm still praying for a little bit more time before that milestone!! i need time to babyproof!)


My dad often says graduates earned a degree in 4 years and learn SO much what have you done the last four years? It makes me think of the last 6 months, Milo has learned an infinite amount of knowledge about the world around him, about us his parents, his other family members, how to sit, how to hold his head up, how to eat off of a spoon, how to scoot backwards the list could go on and on and on...


So I think of all the things that we have learned... that your heart swells and grows to love this little person more than anything you could ever know, that you can do A LOT on very little sleep, that its not bad to ask for help, that you need your extended family more as you get older, that changing your own kids diapers is a lot easier than others, that family IS all that really matters, that marriage takes work, that Dan and I are a stronger than we know, that getting teeth can make someone super miserable, that swine flu wasn't really all that it was made out to be, to trust your gut... as the parent your intuition means everything and most of all that we LOVE being parents!
