My Potty Training ROCKSTAR!

***warning this post may be TMI for some people... poop is definitely discussed :)

Milo is truly a potty training ROCKSTAR!!

we started just one week ago and already he goes by himself pulling up and down his underwear!  The last 2 mornings he comes into our room saying I PEED! so excited and proud!

The best was at 2:30am this morning... he woke himself out of a dead sleep peed on his potty in the dark (we have been putting it next to his bed) then came in and told us!  I have heard that night training is difficult but it really came easy to him... thank goodness because

POOP has been a completely different story!!! Milo has been having problems with constipation and has had to go to the dr twice in the last month and has had to use laxatives/suppositories 3 times in the last month :( poor little guy the one time was so bad he was throwing up and sweating like crazy because he was so stopped up he couldn't even pee!

Anyway... on Monday we gave in and he pooped in a diaper (at that point any poop was good poop it had been 4 days for our very regular kid)  the dr finally put him on daily miralax to help him out :)

Well today was just awful he has unknowingly been drinking the miralax in his juice but it takes awhile to get them regular... so we had to try more laxatives :( poor kid!!  anyway he was refusing the medicine and physically fighting us as we tried to give it to him so much so that he began to poop!!!  He ran to the potty and SUCCESS!!!!!!  I cried tears of joy (i know whoever thought poop could cause you to cry tears of joy!)  He was SO very proud of himself and he knew that this meant he got 2 action figures that he bought the other day for this very occasion :)  they have been taunting, err i mean encouraging, him all week :)

The most utterly adorable part was anytime he was really struggling to the go the potty he would look at us with that sweet face and say, "mommy/daddy, can we pray about it?" such a sweet little innocent faith... if only we would all come to Jesus the way that children do... they never cease to amaze me!

Potty Training!!!!!

Dan has been saying for a long time now that his summer project is to potty train Milo... well today was day 1... and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Milo has never been a real heavy wetter but honestly he had no accidents!! Dan took the whole day to just focus on Milo... just him and Milo hanging out and focusing on the potty!!!!!  We had him naked the whole day and used a timer so he sat on the potty every 15 minutes to try and go (each time the timer went off him and daddy would yell potty time!!!!!!)... it took awhile and after about sitting 10 times (Dan has the patience of a saint) he finally went!! and then the 2nd time he went the timer didn't even have to go off he just felt the sensation (the tickles as he calls them)

now we will see how it works tonight :) but we are just so proud of him!

anyway we wanted to make it really fun since he was SO not excited whenever we would talk about it... he was crying the day before about having to say goodbye to his diapers, he said he hated the potty etc...  so we really played it up!!!!!

we had underwear hanging from the curtains, balloons on the potty's, an awesome sticker chart, spiderman in underwear, superman on a potty his size, prizes for when he made it to the potty, balloons galore and of course Elmo potty time and Bear in the big blue house potty time!

When he saw what the family room looked like he was SOOOOO excited!!!!  It really could have gone either way so we were really excited but the best part was how proud he was of himself after going!!!

he did NOT want his picture taken and I wasn't pushing it I just wanted him to focus on getting his pee in the potty!!!!  :) I can't believe how BIG he is getting!!!!!

and being so sweet with his sister :) watching them love each other just melts my heart!!

FAMILY!

since I didn't want to overload the last post with pictures I thought I would add some more here of when Blakesley was actually born and the wonderfully amazing family that came to visit us and help out :)
sleeping with Avia
meeting Grandma Smith for the first time

meeting Avia right after being born
 meeting Dar Dar
 Meeting Gramma K
 Meeting PopPop and Dawn
and even a Knight came to visit us!!
 meeting Gigi
and daddy reading me a book as soon as I was born just like he did my big brother :)

Blakesley is HERE

Yup she is here and has been for 8 weeks now :)  We are settling nice into being a family of 4!!  Milo is beyond in love with his sister and just absolutely adores her!!!  I am so proud of the big brother he has become and just what a little man he is... he truly is growing in leaps and bounds each and every day!!

Here is Blakesley's birth story :)  It truly was a whirlwind of a day!

My contractions began at 3am on Tuesday morning but were not timeable they would go from 15 minutes to 30 minutes apart back to 20 minutes apart and get down to 7 minutes apart it was crazy. I couldn't really sleep so I took a bath and kept timing them. I sent Dan to work (an hour away) because I really didn't think I was close at all. My mom came over to help with M and by 9am they were only 4 minutes apart and coming STRONG!

I called the dr and the nurse said yeah head on over to the hospital. I called Dan immediately... We almost stopped for a bite to eat (i was starving) but after having 3 contractions in the car with Milo in the backseat constantly asking me what was wrong I decided it was best to just head to the hospital
They didn't even check me in and my dr took me back to check me and I was 7cm... I requested an epidural right away and they said they had to get a bag of fluid in me first so off we went to a labor and delivery room! Dan showed up right around then and I was so thankful! I was so worried he wouldn't make it in time!!
It seemed to take forever to get an epidural and for the bag of fluid to go through my iv so they checked me again and I was already 9-10 cm... the pain was crazy intense and they said if I feel the need to push to push I basically said no not until I get an epidural (I know my pain threshold haha)
They ended up giving me the epidural at 10cm and waited a few minutes for it to take. It was like pure heaven  i turned on my labor playlist (I am addicted to the song welcome to this world by rennee and jeremy and wanted it playing when she entered the world)
It was finally time to push and after 10 minutes our beautiful baby girl entered the world. It was a crazy whirlwind I looked down and saw her feet which were a little blue but thought nothing of it... then they placed her on my chest for 2 seconds and I noticed the cord was cut and not by Dan... she wasn't crying and they were suctioning her out like crazy... the gave her some oxygen as well and finally after a couple of minutes that seemed like an eternity I heard her cry  music to my ears!!! apparently the cord was wrapped around her neck when she came out... my dr was awesome and it was still a great birth experience despite the scare!!!

Blakesley is an amazing nurser and sleeper!!! she gives us a good 8-9 hours right in the beginning of the night :) straight until 5am!!! Such a difference compared to Milo!!!!

and because I love pictures here is more of our precious little blessings <3

38 weeks

I will say I am really enjoying these last few quiet days of quality time with Milo... it has been so nice just snuggling with him, playing with his guys (action figures), really soaking up that quiet last few moments of being an only child.  I still am nervous for his entire world to completely change but he is truly going to be the BEST big brother ever!  He loves her so so very much already I cannot wait to see him with her when she is an outside baby!

We are at 39 weeks and we took some photos but I have yet to edit them but here are some more photos from last week at 38 weeks!  Needless to say we are SO ready to meet our precious baby girl!  Milo was already here at this point so I am just so anxious to meet her!!!!!!!  We are praying that she makes her arrival in time to travel to Florida for Uncle Jer Jer's wedding!

without further ado here is our crazy growing family

my absolute favorite picture <3 <3 <3 it...  Dan did such a good job seeing my vision and capturing it :)

More Milo-isms

This kid cracks me up every day!!

Milo you are so cute I could just eat you... "but I'm not edible!!"

I found milo typing on his buzz lightyear computer and when I asked what he was doing he said, "just looking at the apple store!"

At school they often sing ring around the Rosie with different words such as ring around the pumpkin pockets full if spiders.. Or else that has to do with the season... At dinner the other night he started walking around the table singing... "ring around the people pockets full of gigis (Gigi is my grandma)then laus hysterically he cracks himself up!

And then when we tried to put our slipcover on the couch today Milo starts crying and we said what's wrong.. "I like the fall apart couch... I really like the holes" Crazy boy!

Still no signs of Blakesley :( hoping she makes her arrival soon!

It certainly has been awhile!! This last trimester of pregnancy has really kicked my butt!! It is so different from Milo where at 37 weeks I was singing, dancing and jumping around at Vacation Bible School with this little one I can barely roll out of bed!!!!

I have been to the hospital twice in the last week... first because I could not get my asthma under control so my family dr sent me to the er for a breathing treatment and I ended up on prednisone for 5 days!  I kept asking if it was safe for Blakesley but apparently that is what they give me premie's mommy's to help their lungs develop quicker... when I asked the doctor then if she would have super lungs he just looked at me like I was crazy and answered no she will probably have normal lungs... guess he didn't get my humor :)

Then this past Friday Blakesley was being stubborn and wouldn't move as much as normal.  As most of you mommies know you are suppose to do daily kick counts and get to 10 movements in 2 hours at least once a day...  Blakesley normally gets to about 30 within 15 mintues so when she decided not to even get to 10 in 2 hours for a whole day I got sent to the hospital for observation!  Thankfully everything looked good and I got sent home after a few hours with orders just to rest for the weekend!

Milo has been a wonderful nurse throughout all of this... he is just the sweetest boy!  He put the stethoscope up to my belly this morning and said, "oooooh I heard her mommy!!!" when I asked what she said he answered, "I am done going to the doctor" haha poor kid has been dragged to more Blakesley appointments than anything else :) at least at this point he won't be afraid of the hospital once she really does decide to make her grand entrance (which I am hoping that she isn't fashionably late like her mother always is :))

Milo has said some of the funniest and sweetest things so I will end with a collection of Milo-isms!

"Mommy look the Bishop has a yarmulke" (apparently Milo thinks that the Bishop is Jewish)

"I'm getting A-N-G-R-Y!!!!!!"   why honey? don't be mad  "Mommy the hulk has to get angry to turn green"

how much longer should we play Milo?  "2 minutes" a real 2 minutes or a fake 2 minutes (he answers everything with 2 minutes) "a real 2 minutes" ok...   **after 2 minutes** ok milo your 2 minutes is up...  "a fake 2 minutes then!"

"You are a great mommy"  <3 that kid just completely melts my heart <3

because no post is complete without it here are some pictures taken today at 38 weeks!
